Welcome to my personal website! I’m Marina Mateich, a multifaceted designer and artist with a passion for creating visually captivating and meaningful spaces, artworks, and designs. With over a decade of experience, I’ve honed my skills across various disciplines, from interior and exterior design to fine arts and collectible coin design.
My Journey
I was born on May 13, 1987, and my creative journey has taken me through some of the most culturally rich regions of Europe, including Kyiv, Donetsk, and Germany. These diverse environments have greatly influenced my artistic vision, allowing me to blend traditional and modern design principles in my work.
What I Do
-
Design: My expertise spans the design of interiors, exteriors, furniture, and collectible coins. I work on both manual and computer-aided projects, always aiming to create functional yet aesthetically pleasing designs.
-
Art: I specialize in interior painting, drawing, and painting in a wide range of styles and materials, including oil, watercolor, charcoal, ink, and pencil. I also create detailed hand-drawn sketches and graphic designs using Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator.
-
Teaching: I share my knowledge and passion for art through teaching painting, drawing, and composition, helping others explore their creative potential.
Education
My formal education began at the Donetsk Art College, where I earned a diploma with honors in “Image and Decorative-Applied Art” in 2007. I further pursued my studies at the Kyiv State Institute of Decorative and Applied Arts and Design named after M. Boychuk, graduating with honors in 2013 with a specialization in Environmental Design.
I’ve also completed specialized courses in ArchiCAD and Photoshop, which have enhanced my capabilities in both design and graphic arts.
Awards & Recognition
Throughout my career, I’ve been fortunate to receive several accolades, including a scholarship from the Kyiv mayor for outstanding achievements, and recognition in a national student research competition. These awards have fueled my dedication to the field of design and the arts.
Professional Experience
Over the years, I’ve worked on a variety of projects:
-
As a freelance graphic designer since 2012, I’ve contributed to numerous creative projects, showcasing my work on platforms like Shutterstock.
-
My role as an interior designer and furniture developer from 2010 to 2013 allowed me to collaborate on bespoke furniture and wooden products, merging functionality with artistic design.
-
More recently, I’ve been involved in coin design for HEVIT GMBH in Berlin, where I bring historical and cultural narratives to life through intricate designs.
-
As an independent artist and designer, I continue to work on diverse projects, including online interior design planning and curating art for public spaces.
